| The whale was discovered on Wednesday in the UK. |
In this article, a rare species of whale was put down in Northumberland on Wednesday. Experts believe that it is a Sei whale. The 26- foot female was found and put down stranded on a North Sea beach. The whale was too thin to be sent back to sea. After being treated, she was put down due to being underweight. Experts from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue( BDMLR) operations director Stephen Marsh said: "Sei whales are an unusual species to find stranded in the UK." The whale was in poor nutritional condition, with thin blubber and bile staining, showing that she must have went through a ling period od starvation.
