Alligator rips off woman's arm in Florida canal

According to this article, in Leesburg Florida, an elderly woman's arm got ripped off by an alligator in a canal. The woman was in critical condition, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's spokeswoman Joy Hill. The woman was identified as 84 year old Carol Hough. Delmas Zickefoose, Hough's neighbor tells the Orlando Sentinental that he witnessed Hough falling into the 4- foot deep canal, which goes behind their mobile homes, although he does not know how she fell into the water. The alligator who attacked Hough will be put down and authorities will perform a necropsy, a procedure to ensure that the animal will never attack again.
